PGCIN Transparency

Transparency is a fundamental pillar for the credibility and success of any public institution, and the PGCIN-UFSC, as a graduate program linked to the Federal University of Santa Catarina, is no exception. Brazilian legislation, especially the Access to Information Law (LAI – Law No. 12,527/2011), guarantees society’s right to access public information, promoting citizen participation and social control. In the context of the PGCIN-UFSC, transparency is manifested in several areas:

Resource management: The provision of information on the budget, financial execution and signed contracts allows the academic community and society to monitor the use of public resources allocated to the program. Clear accountability demonstrates responsibility and strengthens trust in the management of the PGCIN-UFSC.
Selective processes: Transparency in the selection processes for students, professors and researchers guarantees equality and meritocracy, avoiding the occurrence of favoritism and ensuring impartiality in the selection of the best candidates.
The disclosure of the rules, criteria and results of the selection processes contributes to the legitimacy of the program.
Research and scientific production: The availability of research results, publications and scientific activities developed within the scope of the PGCIN-UFSC fosters collaboration, the exchange of knowledge and the dissemination of academic production, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and scientific development.

Institutional information: The disclosure of information about the organizational structure, ongoing projects, activities carried out and results achieved contributes to a greater understanding of how the PGCIN-UFSC operates and strengthens its relationship with society.

Transparency in the PGCIN-UFSC is not limited to compliance with legislation, but constitutes an ethical commitment and an institutional value. By adopting transparent practices, the program demonstrates its respect for society, strengthens its credibility and contributes to more efficient and effective management. Transparency is, therefore, an essential instrument for building a strong, responsible public institution committed to scientific development and the training of high-quality human resources.
